I Seriously Feel like Skipping

Today has been too wonderful.

First of all, hello friends. Sorry that it's been a minute since my last blog but, I caught a free moment and decided to share it with you all.

I'd like to start off with by saying school is almost out. Summer is sooooooo close I can almost taste it. My "finals week" was basically this week. I had to write two papers and then have two online test and only one actual in class final.  Then it's tanning, road trips, and swimsuits from then on.

i love summer!

Most recently my life has been taken over by Dexter and The Tudors.  They are both Showtime original series and they both equally blow my mind.  Dexter really surprised me.  To sum it up, it follows the life of a man named Dexter Morgan and how he basically is a psycho murderer that only kills victims that had gotten off on murder charges themselves.  So he more or less just takes the law into his own hands. Very intriguing

The Tudors has always been a favorite show of mine. I'm now on season three and was broken hearted when they let go of Anne Boylen from the cast.  The Tudors follows the life of King Henry IIIV of England and what a man slut/lunatic he is.

And now let's move to the main cause of my neglect to blogging. Work has been a ubber shit show lately. We've been so busy with prom and weddings it almost makes me want to barf just writing about it.  If I never hear the words "I need to get fitted for a tux" again I will die a happy man.

I would just like to take another minute to remind you all that school days are numbered and summer is here in a weeks time... I could fill my head with those thoughts all day, in fact I have been. So I'm going to continue about my business now, and catch you all later.

xoxo bitches!

Dear God, is that the Sun???

Hello World!!!

Long time, no blog, I know. So I decided to take advantage of my day off an fill you, equally busy beavers, in about my life.

Just recently I had finished one of my secret projects.  I actually read the entire Harry Potter book series. I know I'm a total closet HP nerd but, deal with it.  I started this project in October of last year and finished a few weeks ago, so not bad for reading thousands of pages in only six months, right?

Along with that project lets not forget about my New Years resolution. I have been doing very well, If I do say so myself.  The recent movies that I have saw are as followed. Shutter Island, Alice and Wonderland, Up in the Air, and I know there are more but, these box office bits are the only ones that came to mind at the current time.

Along with the movies, if you recall I recently blogged about volunteering for the Nebraska AIDS Project. I just went in today and filled out my paper work. They said that they would like at least a year long commitment to the organization and I, my ladies and gents, don't have much of a problem with that.  And like I promised I'll try to keep you all updated with how that ends up turning out.

If you are apart of the college world you are just now returning from spring break, and I for one could use another week or two.  I spent some time back in Grand Island with the nugget, my nephew, and the rest of the family, then came back to the 402 area code to work.  I spent my St. Patties day with a good friend and actually made another good friend. We spent the night in style.  Some beverages, card games, a green man, a moose, and then some N64. It was a little slice of heaven if you ask this cat.

Alright, the plate I was served for this week has quite the load on it. Two papers and a test (I know the week back, right?).  So I think that I should probably try and take a chunk out of this massive platter. I'll try my best to get back on this as soon as possible.

Until Next Time Bitches!

Giving Back

Hello all,

As many of you know I'm currently taking a Sexual Development class, which has become one of my favorite classes of all time.  In the class we talk literally about sex and all the things that come along with it(i.e. disease, history, pregnancy) One of the topics that we had guest speakers on was AIDS and HIV.

During the class we of course learned all the statistics of the epidemic and what it entails.  They talked about the four ways the disease can be transmitted along with how people can cope with it.  They told us that over a hundred new cases are diagnosed in Nebraska every year, which I believe is too high and people need to be more aware of what they are doing.  I have decided that I want to do my part for the community so, I have come to the conclusion that I'm going to start volunteering for the Nebraska AIDS Project.

It's a state wide clinic that offers testing, therapy, and does numerous awareness projects.  I'm really looking forward to this!  A friend and myself are going to start sometime this month. It's going to be quite interesting.  They haven't told us yet what exactly we will be doing but, I'm up for whatever they throw our way!  Even though my schedule is hectic as is, I feel that this will be really good for me.  Help me appreciate the life I've been blessed with.  I can actually see myself possibly working for an organization such as this after I graduate. At least that is the plan.

So, once I start, I will be doing updates, via blogs and facebook, to let everyone know when there will be any up and coming events so that "everyone" can show their support and help shine a light on this problem!

Until next time!!

In the Name of Gaga

Ten Reasons to love this crazy bitch!

If you live on planet Earth and have any contact to a tv, computer, magazine, or even a newspaper. You have heard by now of the infamous, queen of crazy, Lady Gaga. I Though I'd do the world a favor and deliver ten reasons to love someone as crazy as her!

Reason #1) Star power.
Let's take it back to two years ago. Can anyone tell me who Gaga was??? No, didn't think so. This bitch became a success, it seems over night.  Her debut album The Fame was gold on a CD.  She's sold millions of albums worldwide and will continue to do so for quite sometime, if I have anything to say about it.

Reason #2) The Fame.
Her breakout CD was launched immediately to the top of the charts. The four number one hits; Just Dance, Pokerface, Love Game, and Paparazzi, all killed the Billboard Hot 100 list and still are heard frequently on the sound waves.

Reason #3) Her outlandish outfits.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that once Gaga came out looking like a crazy that every other "superstar" has been taking to the couture world?? Coincidence? I think not.

Reason #4) The song Pokerface.
Muh-muh-muh my favorite. I could easily listen to the song, and I have, five times in a row and wouldn't mind to keep going five more times.

Reason #5) Her live performances.
Now show of hands.  When someone brought up the VMA's who brought up Gaga's performance?? If you didn't raise your hand. You're a liar.  She is so artistic, and coming from someone who has seen her live, it's worth every penny. She doesn't lip-synch and she actually performs. It's nuts. From acoustic piano ballads to bass bumping dance numbers...she stole my heart.

Reason #6) She gives back.
During her concert she announced that she had a set up where if you text a certain number you could donate a dollar to less fortunate members of the LGBT community. And for how much people donated she was going to match that donation out of pocket. This was also running through the whole tour. So kudos for her for giving back.

Reason #7) Her music videos.
Lady Gaga's music videos are some of the dopest.  The hype for "Bad Romance" was ridiculous. I know I was one of many that was looking at her website daily to see if she finally uploaded.  Then it soared to the top on youtubes most watched.

Reason #8) The Fame Monster.
Her follow up album, the Fame Monster, was as just as much of hit as The Fame.  The only difference was the anticipation for this one was a lot higher than for her debut.  It, like it's older sister, went straight to the top of the charts and has already had two singles hit number one.

Reason #9) She's actually talented.
If any of you laugh at this statement I want you to go to youtube. Type in Lady Gaga live at NYU 2005. Then take off your shoe, and put your foot in your mouth.

Reason #10) She's a total maniac.
She is one of the most unusual people on the planet by far.  She is not afraid to be different and encourages others not to hide their true self from the world, and I think that might be my favorite reason of all.

Movie Mayhem: Part Two!

I'm back skanks! I went on a bit of a vacation from blogging. My apologies. I've been super busy with work and school.  No worries though, nothing has changed in my life.  I'm going home this weekend for my brother's and nephew's birthday party, it's sure to be a good time!

As many of you may recall in my last blog, I told you that I was going to try, as a new year's resolution, to watch at least one new movie a week. Since that post my resolution is going strong.  I have watched FOUR since I have last blogged and no worries I will be sure to give my brutally honest opinion on all of the following.

The first of the new movie excursion begins with the Edge of Darkness, starring Mel Gibson.  This movie was pretty intense, not going to lie.  The story focuses on Mel Gibson's character as he searches to see why his activist daughter was murder at his front door.
The story line is fairly predictable but, I'm glad to say Mel's still got it.  He's whooping ass through out the entire movie.  There are a few parts that will make you jump out of your seat but, like I said, it's a fairly predictable movie.  It ends on a "happy note" if you want to call it that.

After all that action from Edge of Darkness I needed a calm down, next in line Julie & Julia.  And can I just add Meryl Streep, YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!!!!  She was Julia Child in this movie.  The voice, the look, everything. You are a damn Goddess among mortals.  Now let's not be bias. Amy Adams did a fantastic job as well but, with your co-star being Hollywood royalty, you don't have much of a chance to shine.
The movie focused on two true stories that were interwind into one fantastic movie.  The story of Julia Child is one that should be known far and wide!  Then the eloquent effort put forth by Julie Powell to conquer Julia Child's french cook book. I will admit it got a little predictable on Powell's side of the movie, but I was a little butt hurt that the two never actually end up meeting.  I almost assumed that they would be, alas I was wrong.

Next on the list of movies was Gamer.  Now I was under the impression that this was going to be a good movie.  Let me make myself quite plain.  If you value time and money, DON'T RENT THIS!!!

Gerard Butler finally let us down world.  This movie blew the big one.  I was so confused the entire time and when the end finally came I was left there sitting completely confused.

Finally the last movie for this post, Alfie.  Jude Law at his finest is more like it. This movie follows Jude through the streets of New York as being an infamous playboy.

The movie shows Jude going from girl to girl the entire time. The girls include Sienna Miller (SOOOOOO GORGEOUS!) and Susan Sarandon for a fifty plus women will make you give a double take.  The bottom line of the movie comes to how after all this useless shagging Alfie is left with nothing and shows how that at some point in ones "adult" life they need to grow up.

New Movie Mayhem

Movies...
I have finally figured out a New Years resolution that I don't mind actually keeping,  I'm going to try and watch at least one new movie a week.  I noticed lately that my "movies to see" list is getting a little lengthy, and I'm determined that I should try and do this movie a week approach.

WARNING:  This blog contains spoilers to most of the movies!

This last weekend, I knocked out three movies that I've been wanting to see, and for the most part was happy with their out comes.  The first movie I saw, this weekend, was Whip It!  Drew Barrymore's director debut was a thumb's up!  Even though I think Ellen Paige might want to start branching out from her stereotypical roles.  But nevertheless the movie had a lot of laughs, a few tears, and some very manly women.

The next movie I saw this weekend, was A Perfect Getaway.  This was a suspenseful thriller kind of movie that I thought looked interested in theaters but, didn't want to spend 9 dollars to actually go to it.  The suspense wasn't as mind racking as I was anticipating it to be. But the twist at the end was stellar.

And the final installment of my movie extravaganza is 500 Days of Summer.  This movie had such great potential.  I love love love!  Zooey Deschanel but, in this movie she is a raging bitch!  After leading poor Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) on for so long, just to break up with him and then goes off and marries some other dude...not cool Zooey, not cool at all.  Over all though the movie earned a solid B+ in my book.

Like most New Years resolutions I most likely won't be able to actually keep it for a whole year but, I will keep everyone updated of my new movie a week ambitions.

Coffee, Cinnamon Roll, and Early Morning Ponderings

I would like to start this post off by saying that cinnamon roll containers never, ever come with enough icing!  But black coffee has never tasted better.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I have early class, so my day begins at 6:45am.  It's a rough life but, someone's got to do it.  Since I'm already up and on my second cup of coffee, I decided to pop some cinnamon rolls into the oven while I reflected on my week.

I'm taking a sexual development class, that has turned out to be very interesting.  At our last class we had a guess speaker from the counseling department on campus.  It was a very intriguing lecture that stimulated some great thoughts.  The one that stood out to me the most was that the lecturer said that life should be a balance of the five stages. Work, Society, Love, Leisure, and Spirituality.

Work, obviously, is what we do to be productive. Along with providing a means to support ourselves, it keeps us busy. It does not necessarily mean an actual job either, must of us are still students and we know how time consuming school can really be.  Society is our means to socialize, not necessarily our true friends but, more along the lines of networking. Friendly "hello's" and ask to see what people are doing this weekend, not actually connecting with the person on a intimate level.  Love, the special bonds we feel between people(i.e. Family, Friends, Other Halves).  Leisure, is our down time, the free time we give ourselves.  Then Spirituality, as the counselor explained did not necessarily mean religion.  Even though religion definitely is a means of spirituality, but as she elaborated, it was our connection to things on a greater level than materialistically.

She asked us to draw our lives, in according to the five stages, into a pie chart.  Now, mine for instance was dominated by work and society(almost 2/3 of my chart).  Then in the last third was cramped with love, leisure, and spirituality.  To achieve happiness in life she said that we need to maintain a balance of the stages.  So I give you all this challenge to draw up your own pie chart and see how your life is according to these five stages.

Happy Graphing!
